Whats On ?

Friday 4th June to 7th June 2021 - WA Day long weekend
WA Goes Big has been the biggest Geocaching event held in WA, firstly in 2013 and 2015 in Busselton. The 2016 event took us to Pinjarra. 2017 was Rockingham, 2018 Dunsborough, 2019 Northam and 2020 at Gidgegannup.
For 2021 we are heading south to Albany & Denmark.
Where is it all happening??
This year we are going to follow a slightly different event plan creating more time for teams to meet at designated areas to find geocaches as a group. We will be based in Albany on Saturday and Denmark on Sunday with the CITO planned for Denmark thanks to their generous donation to the weekends event allowing us to give back. We will be again holding a dinner this time on the Sunday night. As the venue is a licensed property drinks will be available for purchase only, for sports club like prices.
A Geocaching event is a gathering of Geocachers. You can expect all the normal things that people do when they get together with other people who share a common interest. Well ours is Geocaching. So expect to hear stories told of caches found and caches missed. Of puzzles that you think you’re on the right track to solving but just can’t get there. Of travels and holidays where geocaching was the tour guide.
There will be new and experienced geocachers, there will be young and older geocachers, there will be geocaching families and there will be individual geocachers, there will be cachers from around the state and there will be geocachers visiting from interstate, there will even be muggles young and old all with the common aim of sharing experiences and making new friends.
You can expect to bump into Geocachers all through town. It is a good place to learn about those Geocaching things you have been wondering about for a while, guaranteed someone will know the answer to your question no matter how obscure.

Registration:
The Event time line can be viewed at this webpage.
Registration will however be limited to certain time frames across the weekend with pre event registration and collection of merchandise on the Friday, a 2 hour window for registration and merchandise collection on the Saturday, with a final option for registration at the Dinner on the Sunday.
So whether you can make it down for an extended long weekend or just a short stay you will be able to register and say you were part of the WAGB Albany 2021 event.
But don’t worry each day will have some great activities for you to complete and be part of.
